The memorial opened to the public on May 4, 2000, the day before the 55th anniversary of Victory in the World War II and was dedicated to fallen firefighters. The memorial is located in the heart of Victory Park, in downtown Khanty-Mansiysk. The glory alley honors the Heroes of the Soviet Union who gave their life for the nation.
The World War II Memorial commemorates the sacrifice of 3,494 Samarovsky region and Khanty-Mansiysk residents who served in the armed forces and died.
