In 2002 Khanty and Mansi, natives of Ugra, were given an opportunity to present traditional performing arts by means of professional theatre. The theatre is considered the only and unique traditional Khanty and Mansi theater in the world. The most remarkable is that young actors maintain native traditions and keep native culture alive.
The Ob-Ugric Peoples' Theatre plays performed by musical folk band and national total theatre, targeted both native and non-native audiences of any social and age group.
The theatre repertiore include Sun Following, World Looking Khanty and Mansi folk play; concert performance Sounds of Ancient Ugra; Into This World I Came to See the Sun - philosophical fable of artist's destiny, based on Gennady Rayshev's paintings; choreographic plays Khanty Legend and Spirit of Fire.
