Located along the historic Samarovsky Chugas hills this open-air museum welcomes visitors to explore the Ob-Ugric peoples life and culture. The living ethnographic museum has held a special place in the hearts of Khanty-Mansiysk residents and their guests. The museum's collection of over 6000 items including historic buildings, crafts and household supplies beckon the visitor into a traditional Khanty and Mansi environment. Torum-Maa houses three exhibitions: summer reindeer herding camp of Khanty, winter settlement of Northern Mansi, and Ob-Ugric peoples' sanctuary.
The Museum became a venue for a variety of folk celebrations, such as Bear's Merrymaking, Crow Fests and folk bands performances. The year of Khanty-Mansiysk 360th anniversary a traditional Khanty wedding ceremony was held under the ancient pines of Torum-Maa living museum.
