Bus terminal, adjacent to ferry terminal, is located in Samarovo - historic part of the city. 'Ugorian Dragon', the bridge crossing the Irtysh, was opened in 2005 as a part of a newly-built federal highway linking Khanty-Mansiysk with Urals and Western Russia.

Intercity bus lines daily provide transit to nearby cities and towns (Pyt-Yakh, Surgut, Nizhnevartovsk, Tyumen, Omsk). Bus terminal is a major bus depot for intercity travel, but several bus lines operate from Transportation Agency building (18, Komsomolskaya St.), and from Khanty-Mansiysk Auto Transport Enterprise (102, Mira St.).
12 local bus routes provide public transit service within the city. School bus service provides transit to and from school for school students.
