The capital of Ugra has contemporary world-class airport terminal, located several kilometers away from the city. The airport is designed to handle up to 350 passengers per hour. Utair Aviation Company provides flight service to Autonomous okrug major towns, and also to Moskow, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Ufa, Krasnodar and Sochi.

The airport's runway, 2800 m long, is used for heavy aircraft such as TU-154, Tu-134, IL-76, YAK-42, YAK-40, AN-2, AN-26, AN-28, AN-30, AN-32, AN-74, L-410, also for all types of helicopters.
The latest in air navigation equipment and technology allowing flights in unstable weather conditions, include air-to-ground communications, ground equipment for the Instrument landing system CП-90, air traffic control, runway lighting system.

Khanty-Mansiysk airport was certified by the Interstate Aviation Committee in 2002. Airport staff won the Intensively Developing Airport Award in the Best CIS Airport contest.
